Have had mine exchanged twice now, the first would not allow any outgoing or incoming calls & the earpiece when listening to a call would distort so badly that you could not understand what any one was saying, I am now off to get the 2nd replaced if the 3rd one has any problems I will go back to Samsung as never had any problems with them.

UPDATE FROM MY PREVIOUS REVIEW
Simply put, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE unless you want to put up with it turning itself on & off. I bought one of these for myself & one for my daughter. I ended up swapping mine out in store for an older model phone (diff manufacturer) due to it repeatedly switching itself on & off.
My daughter's fared little better, Orange customer service is truly dreadful, from some call-centre on the other side of the planet & now waiting for phone no.3 as they say because we bought on the Internet they're entitled to replace it twice before considering a refund!
They just tried to deliver a SIM card today instead of the phone so courier sent duly packing back with the SIM card. Get any other brand apart from LG, just see the Internet forums about their phones. Next stop for me is trading standards.

I've had the LG GW300 for nearly two months & am experiencing problems with it. Like other users of some LG GW300, the back cover of my phone is a bit loose & clicks whenever I push the cover (but it doesn't fit properly so it keeps clicking whenever pushed) & my phone keeps freezing & then turns itself off. This happens about 30 seconds after I've turned the phone on & it keeps happening. I am about to return this phone because although it was absolutely amazing when I first bought it, I can hardly use it for more than half a minute before it freezes & turns off. It has become annoying & what's the use in using a freezing phone? I enjoyed using this phone before the problems started happening. If I didn't have these problems, I would say this is the best phone I've seen at an incredible price.

PHONE IS EXCELLENT! People who are saying the phone turns itself on & off must have a faulty phone because mine has never done it. Had it 4 months & very pleased. Great design easy to use. QWERTY keypad is great. Buttons may be small but get used to it after couple days. Internet options are very good. Fast working phone. Good sound & vision! On call sounds great. I LOVE the PHONE !

I have read many reviews. Some sites state it is quad band, others state it is tri. The maximum memory card appears to be vague. One review claimed there was no sd card provision, another stated 4GB was the highest it could handle. Another stated it went up to 16GB. I have studied at least 20 to 30 reviews, possible 8 think it is a good phone, these were youngsters I imagine, & the remainder state is was awful. I am a blackberry enthusiast, I thought it would be handy to carry about in place of my expensive Blackberry Bold I currently use, I have a very active labouring job & it would be handy for working hours. The reports have completely put me off this phone. Regards, from a 45 year old working man.

I've had this phone for a week & I am really pleased. I've had none of the problems that have been mentioned above, such as the memory card not being accepted, or the phone turning off.
Overall, I find it very pleasing to use, & as a late teenager texting loads, I find it great to use :).

I got this phone for my birthday & I LOVE it! It sort of looks like a Blackberry, but cooler.
The keys are REALLY small but you get used to it after a while. The radio is of really good quality & I really like the Internet option as it is really good for people on the go. The 2.0 megapixel camera is pretty good, & so is the Bluetooth. Many people are complaining about the phone turning off, which has happened a few times. You have to go to settings, & then choose phone & then auto lock key (whatever it is) & change the setting. Problem solved.
Overall, it is a good phone for people who are tech savvy & a great alternative for people who can't afford a Blackberry.

Just getting to grips with my Chrissy present. BUT can someone please tell me how to open the fiendishly awkward little flap for the camera USB cable! This is proving to be ridiculously impossible. IT CAN'T BE THAT DIFFICULT!

Can anyone tell me if this phone has threaded (conversational) text & also (emoticons) smilies. Cheers.

Just purchased this mobile, I love the design & the keyboard in particular is very positive. I haven't used anything like all the features yet but so far so good. Radio reception is a little iffy (this has probably more to do with the positioning of the headset cord which can't always be in the optimum place) but sound quality is good. There is a very useful rocker switch along one side of the phone to increase & decrease volume making phone calls in various conditions quite easy. Others have referred to the LG's habit of switching off unexpectedly. Try increasing the Main Screen Duration & Keypad Duration (Go to Settings, Screen, Backlight). I have increased these settings to 30 seconds & 20 seconds respectively on my phone & don't have any problems. In general I have found navigating around the menus fairly straightforward & I am by no means an expert!
All in all I am very pleased with this purchase.

I just bought this phone & I am wondering why it turns off all the time can someone tell me please:).

My first impressions of the GW300 were very favourable. Large, clear, backlit markings on the keys are a real asset for those of us with less than perfect eyesight. The full qwerty keyboard with a firm key click is far easier & quicker than typing texts on the numeric keypad of my old phone.
Pictures taken on the 2MP camera on an overcast day looked muddy, but those taken in sunlight were quite good when viewed on a full computer screen.
I was sold a 4GB micro SDHC card with the camera which proved defective & was exchanged for a 2GB micro SD by my local Orange shop (the card was unreadable even on my PC.)
The other big problem was that while I could download emails from my Post Office account, I could not send them. The Orange shop could not help & even the facility to set up emails from your current provider by specifying your mobile model on the Orange website did not work. The Orange helpline simply cut me off after I had entered my phone number & PIN. My attempt to open an Orange email account was rejected about 10 times.
After 3 nights searching the Internet, I eventually found the answer in part of the Orange site concerning setting up MS Outlook to read emails on your previous ISP's account when you have signed up for Orange Broadband. The salient part is that the incoming mail server should be set to pop3.mypostoffice.co.uk while the outgoing mail server should be set to smtp.orangehome.co.uk & not mypostoffice as one might expect. Works fine now. One wonders why the Orange setup facility noted above does not automatically implement this?
Another slight irritation is that the manual refers to connecting the phone to your PC using PC Suite. What this is or where you get it from is a mystery. Seemingly it's also a mystery to LG who did not answer the question I asked about it on the enquiry form on their website. Anybody have any ideas?
Now I've sorted out the two main problems, I'm delighted with my phone for the price. Sure the back creaks a bit but there comes a limit how much they can do for £79! If like me you just like playing with gadgets, there's so much to here experiment with, I've had mine over a week & have only used half the functions.

I bought this phone last month. People problems such as turning itself off, is not happening for me, I don't know why other peoples are doing it. The small little buttons are a bit of a downside but the whole idea of the full QWERTY keyboards is a lot easier than using a normal keyboard on a regular phone.
Another problem that people are bringing up regularly, is the memory slot, again I have to disagree with them because, in a month, I have had no problems.
Overall, this phone is a very stylish & useful phone for people, who love to text & want top of the range phone.

Jury still out in this one. I had a Samsung phone prior to this which was great. Went with the GW300 because I liked the idea that you could increase the font size & I liked the QWERTY keyboard which I find much simpler to use than the standard text key layout.
Downside is battery life. I am a low user & still find I need to charge the phone every third day, so not getting the 500 plus standby hours advertised. Planning to take it back to Orange shop & see what they have to say. Also FM radio is hit or miss, often tune in & save a station to come back later to find nothing but static. Even when tuned in static is a problem & stations drop out regularly. Have set up the e-mail facility as instructed but as yet have failed to send an email, phone tells me it's waiting then sending, then waiting then sending & so on. I left it 20 minutes today to test it but it still says sending.
Overall good looking phone & easy to find your way around, but still some issues need sorting.

I hate it! I've had it for about 3 days & all thats happened is that I turn it on go onto the camera & it TURNS ITSELF OFF! & when I text its really slow & freezes on lots off the apps over all I would rate it a 5%.

I love this phone, but I text a lot, its really really anoying me though, I have had it for 2 days? It has switched off about 9 times. Its starting to annoy me now but I don't want to send it back.

I've had this phone for two weeks & the only problem I've had with it is the memory card. It just doesn't want to know. On every other level it is fine. I have not had the problem that other reviewers have, when the mobile turning itself off & the battery life seems comparable with every other mobile I've ever had & better than some.
The overall design is fine & the small keys are not a problem. I can get & send emails with no trouble at all & surf the net with ease. Calls are clear.
There is a suspicion that it might be dropping text messages but the jury is still out on that as the person who tells me they have sent a text I didn't receive tells me that no matter what phone I use. However, text dropping is a known LG weakness.
In general I am pretty pleased with the phone, I don't need the memory, the camera is good enough but never an important item as far as I am concerned & I wouldn't use a mobile to download music.
All in all, not too bad.

I bought this phone to replace a Nokia XpressMusic. I used my old phone predominately as an MP3 player & it was pretty much flawless. The reason I bought this phone was that it seemed like a lot of phone for the price (on PAYG), & it has a 3.5ml headphone jack! This feature was the clincher for me as I hate listening to music on poor headphones. The OS is nowhere near as intuitive or pleasing as my Nokia (& the music player won't play in the background & let you use all the other functions) but most functions are easily adapted to after a couple of days use. On the whole I'd say this phone gets a good rating with the excellent QWERTY keyboard & headphone jack giving it the edge over other phones at the same price.

Just bought this phone for my teenage daughter & after 1 day had to take it back to the O2 shop as the phone is not 'fit for purpose'. If your child sends as many texts as my one does & lives & breathes texting, then this phone is not the one for them. Great design & price & mirrors the look of a crackberry, which is why most kids might want to choose it. Initial results were that the battery did not last that long, the phone kept switching off & also freezing & the user interface is so slow. Moving between texts & the menu system almost becomes unusable especially when your texting at teenage speed! Not recommended. She chose instead the Samsung Tocco Lite. Hope this helps! Monkeyg.

I love this phone & I am glad I bought it, but I've only had it a few days & already the memory card is playing up & it turns on & off every now & again which makes it hard to use.
The Good Stuff.
- Look, keys & the phone itself
The bad stuff.
- It turns on & off, its usability & the memory card.

Have given this time to see what the phone could do & the features are very good. Layout of the menu is good too. Screen quality is as high as more expensive phones, BUT, the biggest problem is that it KEEPS SWITCHING ITSELF OFF.
It's not random either, it's always when texting, either as the message is being sent OR if you delete any old & sent messages. The outgoing messages DO get through but they still show in the Outbox which is very confusing & has ended up with me sending several messages twice to make sure they've gone.
One positive is that Orange swapped this phone straight out for me in the store BUT unfortunately liked this phone too.

Only had it a couple of days as smashed the screen in my previous LG KS360. This phone is much easier to use, especially one handed, for text which is all I use apart from basic phone calls. Buttons although small rarely give a wrong letter & the blue numbering keys work really well. Calculator is great & large screen is really good.
Faults.
- I memorise lots of phone numbers so I miss the touch screen of the LG KS360.
- Unlocking always seems fiddly & takes a couple of goes.
- Have to wear my glasses as key lettering is really small.
Overall.
- Have not used much so far but really pleased.
