Our LG GU280 Popcorn Review

Overview
The LG GU280 Popcorn is a stylish 3G phone which is available in a pretty pink coloured casing or in a sleek black coloured casing. This phone has a slider form casing which allows the user to use their handset in its slide closed & its slide open position depending on the phone features being used. It has a smooth bodied casing with a slightly curved design which feels good to hold in the user's hand. This mobile phone supports a user friendly camera feature, music playing feature & the can communicate with style using their new GU280 Popcorn.

Appearance & Size
The GU280 Popcorn weighs one hundred & two grams in total including its fitted rechargeable battery which is a good weight for such a compact phone. Its dimensions are 1.49cm in depth by 9.6cm in height by 4.57cm in width when the casing is in its slide closed position. The LG GU280 Popcorn is a compact size due to its slider design but also its opening system makes this handset slightly thicker in size. The user can slide open their casing to access the keypad which has individual & well spaced keypad keys. There is an easily controlled navigation key which can be accessed when the handset is in it slide open or slide closed position, which is located just below the phones screen, complete with two call keys & menu keys. Its screen provides a 176 pixel by 220 pixel screen resolution & the user can view up to two hundred & sixty two thousand colours on their TFT screen which measures two inches in size when measures from corner to corner diagonally. This screen supports colourful picture wallpapers which the user can change to suit their design preferences.

Imaging, Media & Entertainment
It comes with a 1.3 megapixel digital camera complete with a camera capture key & a selection of camera settings so the user can gain the best possible picture capturing using this built in camera. The user can also record video footage using this built in camera feature which can be recorded at up to fifteen frames per second. The user can store their video recording in their video gallery & playback videos in popular video formats including MPEG4, WMV, H263 & H264 video formats.

There is an integrated music player on the LG GU280 Popcorn which allows the user to enjoy entertaining music playing features on their phone. The user can control their music by accessing the music menu via the main menu. This music player supports MP3, eAAC+ format & WMA music format. The user can enjoy a fun gaming experience on the GU280 Popcorn & download new games via the Internet if desired. This phone supports Java™ games for a lively gaming experience.

Communication & Messaging
The GU280 Popcorn comes with a phone book feature which allows the user to store all their contacts names & numbers in an easily located phone book which can hold up to five hundred contacts at any one time. The user can enjoy call functions such as a vibrating alert which allows the user to feel a subtle vibration on their handset when a new call or message is delivered to the GU280 Popcorn.

This phone supports a mobile email service which allows the user to create, send, receive & store their emails on their mobile phone. There is also a built in text messaging service which is a messaging service which allows the user to create & share messages which contain text & punctuation created symbols including smilies. The user can create a message which contains photos or short video recording complete with text & sound or music which is known as multimedia message.

Technology & Internet
The LG GU280 Popcorn comes with twenty megabytes of internal memory & the user can expand their phones memory capabilities further by inserting a compatible MicroSD™ memory card & this handset can hold up to eight gigabytes of external memory via the memory card slot. The phone comes with a rechargeable battery which when fully charged can provide up to four hours of GSM talk time or approximately one hundred hours of battery standby time.

The user can use a USB cabled connection or a Bluetooth® wireless connection when connecting their handset to other compatible devices. When the user is transfer data using the connectivity options available the user can experience high speed data transfer rates thanks to the phones built in EDGE & GPRS technology. Its 3G technology allows the user to enjoy high speed connectivity when surfing the Web. The user can connect to the Web via the built in WAP 2.0 browser which is accessible via the phones main menu & the user can enjoy a user friendly browsing experience. This mobile phone works over a 3G UMTS 2100 network & quad band GSM networks which include GSM 850, 900, 1800 & 1900 networks.
