This is a very good phone if you learn how to use it. Unfortunately the manual is a non event and I am not at all sharp on modern technology.

I bought a micro SD HC for 4GB but phone refused to format it. The PC suite does not work but hangs up & there is no GPS & only 3 bands on my model which I brought from LIDL in Malta.

I tried to download a manual or instructions from the LG website but it is so complicated & they show you other models not GU230. I wonder why. LG is not a very consumer friendly company apparently.

Otherwise it seems OK: phone, camera, FM radio, sound & video recording all seem to work fine.

I have the same issues with getting texts repeatedly, for days sometimes. I think it's a network problem (T Mobile) though from the Googling I've done. The camera is great, Have taken some great shots from moving vehicles, which seems pretty cool. Have loaded my music using drag & drop from my iTune library. I've found Web browsing & blue tooth functions a bit tricky, but then I am a child of the 60's & advanced technology gets the better of me.

I bought my mobile a few months ago & I get repeated texts as well & it is really annoying as they come any time of day or night. I contacted O2 who I am with & they sent me a new SIM card, I thought brilliant end of problem, no such luck. Same old trouble. I took the phone to an O2 shop & left it for 3 hours with the 'guru' & even he could not stop it happening. Surely I should be entitled to my money back? This is obviously a widespread problem.

My second on same. LG GU230 Mobile Phone. The LG AUSTRALIAN website offers all that is needed or wanted for this model. Support etc, but ONLY for AUSTRALIA? That is manufacturer's discrimination!

Surely, all nations & nationals should be treated equally?

I have copied their website email form with AUSTRALIA INDELIBLY IMPRINTED as part of an address.

Is that legal? I expected lidle, the importers, to have some input but all they offer is a refund. Comments & advice, Please?

This phone is nice & compact but some of the features just don't work, like memory card, it will not format. It just says cannot format this card. Plus you keeping getting repeat texts even when you have deleted them. Very poor support for this product.

I have been having the same problem of repeat texts. I didn't believe it was the phone because I put the SIM (T Mobile) in another phone & the same thing happened. Only happens with texts from friends on O2. I have had T Mobile & O2 working on the problem but both say they can do nothing about it.

Was thinking of change from T Mobile, but if this is a phone fault there's no point.

My only disappointment is the repeated texts. If anyone can find a way of getting rid of this please let me known.

Apart from that, find it easy to use.

Phone features are great. Like the ease of changing from Normal, Silent, Flight etc (on Flight at night because of repeat messages but at least the alarm still works). Bought a memory card for it, without which I couldn't use the music facility. Now I have the card I can listen to the radio, put music (& books) on it, which was great for holiday.

Photo & video not so great, but I have a camera for that so not hugely disappointed.

Love that I can change the screen to suit my eyesight.

My wife bought this phone from lidl's but we keep getting repeated text messages. We sent it back to the lidl repair centre. They sent a new phone. Which does exactly the same, I was told this is a fault which only applies in the UK.so there must be a lot of people having the same problem.

I bought this phone, September 2010. One thing I do encounter is that I find it difficult to download a cool game for it. It hangs a lot when downloading some applications at times. The music player volume is too low for my liking, listening via ear piece is differcult. Anyway it's a cool phone at an affordable price.

Bought this phone at a very good price. Although a very good phone, I have had major problems with text messages constantly returning throughout the day after being deleted. The first model I returned to Germany which was promptly replaced by a new one. On starting to use the phone, I found that it had the same problem as the one I had returned & I will be contacting LG as soon as possible.

If anyone else has encountered this problem or has any suggestions I would be grateful.

LG does not recognise or support its own make. For them, it simply does not exist. Tried hard to get some help & support on its many features. Not accessible to me as I need help to understand some of it. Not forthcoming? Why? Does LG not like or approve its own production? Won't even accept an email about it as it's impossible to quote or pick from the list of approved models, the particulars required. Because this model is not listed by LG. Therefore NO SUPPORT! To its own or for its own. Why? PLEASE?

This is very fantastic phone at peanut price. I bought it In Cairo during my Holiday for 55 USD. Only poor camera otherwise beautiful job. Internet, MP3, radio & organizer unbelievable. Calculators as all LG are the best ever. The screen is very capacious, clear. I like this phone & I bought 3 pieces as presents for my friends. They liked it & one of them is replacing it with Nokia 5130.

I have just bought two of these phones this week from budget store LIDL, the price was £60, what a bargain, they sold out in an hour. The camera is poor only 1.3Mp, & the version sold was minus the GPS system, which I believe is on other versions. Value for money is first rate, I have been unable to find this model for sale anywhere else, which I find frustrating, Carphone Warehouse & Phones4you no joy, there not even on LG website for sale. How come a budget store can access them? In the Box was a charger, earphones, USB cable & a very poor manual, also unable to download the PC SUITE for the MP3 as it does not recognize the GU230 model.
