This is the best phone I've ever owned. It's not an iPhone, so what? It's running Android, which is an amazing operating system & can do most, if not all things that an iPhone can do.

To the previous reviewers - no it doesn't come with Flash support, but there are very few phones which do at the moment. It's not the manufacturer's fault - blame Adobe for not getting their act together. It will have flash support by the end of 2009 - & sooner than the iPhone will get it too!

Imran UK, this doesn't mean it can't play iPlayer content - there's a great (free) app called BeebPlayer which does this, check the market.

Dazz - Tuvalu - there is already a (free) sat nav application out called Nav4All - check the market.

The camera is 'only' 3.2 megapixels, but there's so much else to do with this phone that you probably won't have time to take pictures anyway. If you're that interested in taking quality photos, buy yourself a £99 digital camera! Plus, most people will end up uploading their phone photos to facebook or somewhere, which will resize them down anyway.

From my experience with this phone, I struggle to find a bad word to say about it. Why the 95% ratings then? Well here's the result of my struggle.

Design - 95% because it has no 3.5' headphone socket. However, you can buy a cheap adapter from eBay for a couple of quid that'll allow you to use your own headphones. Having said that, the headphones supplied are actually pretty decent.

Features - 95% because it has no flash or light on the phone - again, having said that, the camera is pretty reasonable in low light & most of the time, the flashes on phones are almost not worth talking about anyway.

Usability - 95% because the on-screen keyboard is pretty unusable in portrait mode for people with chunky fingers. However - flip it to landscape mode & it's fine!

Plus, if I gave it 100% that would mean it's perfect with no room for improvement. Let's wait for Android 2.0 (donut) & see what happens to the ratings!

The only downside with Android is the abundance of poor quality apps which have appeared in the Market. Google need some Apple style quality control. Saying that, the good stuff definitely outweighs the rubbish & the fact that you can get most of the good stuff for free just makes it all worthwhile.

Long live Android!

Astounding, was a toss up between this the iPhone & the HTC hd. I made the right decision the phone just works, you ask it to do something it does it. Wife & 3G & GPRS are great. Apps are good & getting better all the time, really looking forward to the sat nav when it eventually arrive.

Android is a pleasure to use in it updated cupcake & with a new update on the way things look good for android.

Only problem is no current flash support but it is being programmed search for it & read the stories.

Seriously recommend getting this phone.

I have had this phone for a couple of weeks now & I love it.
- Love the touch screen.
- Love the app market.
- Love android.
- Love cupcake.
- Love it.
- Even the plastic finish on the device is loveable.

To previous reviewer.
- Recently found a flash player app on the market.
- Search again before you return it.
- The market gets updated all the time.

Funnily though the guy in the Vodafone shop told me I'd be way better off with a BlackBerry Storm because it does more of what you need & generally does it in a better way.

I have to say however that this simply isn't true. He just hadn't taken the time to personalise the phone to his liking & his low rating of the app market proved to me he had not taken more than a glance at it.

There is one flaw in the phone. It's called only having a 3.2 megapixel camera, no flash, & just plain being poor for taking quality shots. Its users & freeware programmers have however taken great advantage by creating apps that let you do things like photo the barcode of a product & it will check its price & compare it with other local shops (determining you fine location via GPS if you allow it to) as well as Google shopping listings.

End note.
The devices existing apps are great but are entirely replaceable & you can often find better ones freeware on the app market. In fact almost all apps are free.

Apps can even utilise other apps to make freeware developers lives a lot easier for faster creation & implementation of apps allowing for a faster growing & more diverse market.

I've had this phone for about a week now & would like to share my opinion on it.

I will be returning my handset back to Vodafone, not because the phone is not any good (far from it), but it does not play flash files. I have looked through the android marketplace & no app is available to rectify this. So sites like BBC iPlayer will not work.

The touch screen itself is very responsive, clear display that is visible in all light conditions. The phone itself comes with a nice leather pouch. Headphones are of goof quality but no 3.5 jack (grrr).

The android marketplace is fantastic, being able to download all sorts of quality applications for free is extremely fun.

I would I recommend it. Definitely but if you want the definitive web experience on a phone then your better off with some of its rivals.
