Our HTC Dream Review

The HTC Dream is a touch screen 3G Smartphone which is a member of the HTC family which includes other Smartphone such as the HTC Magic & the HTC T-Mobile G1. A large 3.2 Inch touch screen dominates the front section of the HTC Dream & this screen displays a bright colourful display with a high screen resolution viewing experience. The user can use the stunning touch screen to point & select features using on screen controls to activate features & settings. This touch screen phone comes complete with a slide out QWERTY keyboard which can be accessed by the user simply sliding the screen to the side & beneath the screen is a fabulous keyboard. The keyboard comes with well spaced keys which are set over five rows which allow the user to input text & create messages at high speed. This handset comes with a small but user friendly trackball navigation tool & the user will find a perfectly positioned menu key for easy access to the main menu. The overall size of the HTC Dream has a solid & well proportioned size casing which is 17.1mm deep, 55.7mm wide by 117.7mm tall which will fit in the users hand comfortably when in use. It weighs one hundred & fifty eight grams including the fitted battery which provides a solid weight handset. This HTC Dream 3G Smartphone comes with a Qualcomm® processor complete with an Android™ operating system.

The user can enjoy a GPS navigation system on the HTC Dream which allows the user in enjoy panoramic scenes & street views as this handset supports a Google maps application. The user can find new destinations using this built in GPS navigation feature which is a useful feature for any user on the move. An integrated Internet HTML browser allows the user to access the World Wide Web & enjoy surfing for new sites on this compact touch screen Smartphone. The user can point using finger controls & search when using the built in Web browser & this stunning handset supports a barcode scanner application which is available if the user desires this function. Communication is the main purpose of any mobile phone & this handset comes with easy to use messaging & email services, which allow the user to communicate using the best service available & required for the user communication needs. The HTC Dream supports a mobile email service which allows the user to enjoy sharing emails to & from their contacts with email addresses. A built in instant messaging services means the user can communicate using text as well as enjoying communicating in an online chat with other compatible contacts. The user may choose to use the messaging service to share their pictures & video clips with others, which is known as a MMS multimedia messaging & can be shared between compatible MMS contacts.

This 3G Smartphone supports document viewing capabilities which allow the user to view documents in popular formats such as PDF format, Word, Excel & PowerPoint format. The HTC Dream has a built in 3.2 megapixel digital camera feature which supports a built in auto focus feature. This auto focus feature will ensure the user captures a well focused picture each time the camera is used. The user can store their pictures on their Smartphone which means the user can view their pictures any time of the day or night for a perfect storage & viewing experience. A built in microphone & an integrated speaker allows the user to enjoy sound out load & features such as hands free speaker calls on this handset. The Dream comes with an integrated music player which allows the user to download new music or transfer music files from other devices which can be played & enjoyed by the users whenever the user desires. The user can enjoy polyphonic sound, MIDI sound & MP3 sounding ringtones on their stunning Smartphone.

A rechargeable battery which is provided with the HTC Dream allows the user to gain up to 6.7 hours of GSM talk time or up to 5.8 hours of HSDPA talk time when the battery is fully charged. A fully charged battery can provide up to 319 hours of GSM standby time or 402 hours of HSDPA standby time if the handset is set to work over a 3G network. This handset comes with two connectivity options which include a Bluetooth® wireless technology & a USB port which allows the user to choose the connectivity option which best suits their needs. The USB connection port allows the user to insert a USB cable to the HTC Dream & the other end of the USB cable can be connected to a compatible device which connects the two devices using a cabled connection. The Dream supports Wi-Fi® technology which allows the user to gain a wireless Internet connection as the Dream can connect wirelessly to a nearby WLAN or even a nearby positioned hotspot. It supports 3G HSDPA technology which allows the user to experience fast connectivity. The 3G Smartphone supports expandable memory cards which allow the user to add further memory to the built in memory which is 192 megabytes of RAM & 256 megabytes of ROM. The Dream works over a quad band GSM network as well as a 3G HSDPA 2100 network & the user can enjoy using their handset worldwide over these networks, but the coverage depends on the chosen network service provider.
