Our HTC Salsa Review

Overview
The HTC Salsa is a 3G touch screen Smartphone which comes with a dedicated Facebook key. This social network focused handset is from the same HTC family as the HTC ChaCha. The Salsa is an Android™ Smartphone with the version 2.4 Gingerbread operating system & supports the HTC Sense™ touch user interface. There is a built in assortment of features & technologies which include Wi-Fi®, 3G HSDPA, GPS navigation system, 5 megapixel camera, music player & Internet with Google™ search, which can all be controlled on the 3.4 inch touch screen.

Appearance & Size
Its 3.4 inch touch screen supports a 480 pixel by 320 pixel screen resolution & displays up to two hundred & fifty six colours. The casing is available with a silver or a black coloured finish & the Salsa has smooth textured sections on the back of the casing which make it easy to hold & grip in a single hand. HTC widgets can be viewed & used on the home screen, & the HTC Sense™ user interface is uncomplicated to use & allows simple touch screen controls to the Smartphone's features. A virtual keypad or keyboard will be displayed on the touch screen when the user needs to input either alphabetic or numeric data. Its touch screen form casing is neatly proportioned making it an easy to carry Smartphone which measures 10.91cm by 5.89cm by 1.23cm & it weighs 120 grams in total.

Imaging, Media & Entertainment
A front facing VGA camera lens is available for when the user wishes to take part in a 3G video call or to capture a self portrait, whereas a 5 megapixel camera lens is positioned on the back of the casing & provides high quality video recording & still picture capturing. There is a built in automatic focus, picture geo tagging, face detection & LED flash available for the user to use when taking a snap. An integrated music player along with a music storage facility allows the user to add their favourite music to their Smartphone which can then be played back for mobile entertainment. The user can play videos & video clips on their HTC Salsa in MPEG4 & WMV9 formats for more entertainment whilst on the move.

Communication & Messaging
The Salsa is a social network focused handset which comes with a dedicated Facebook® key providing quick access to this popular social network website, plus the handset has a Twitter® application available for the user to tweet from anywhere they wish to. Communication is the main purpose of any mobile phone & this Smartphone comes equipped with many messaging services to allow the user to communicate with others efficiently. The services include an online instant messaging service, text message service, multimedia messaging & an email service with push email support. To access a record of calls made, received & missed on the handset the user can simply check their call log & even return calls using this useful feature. The HTC Salsa comes with a quick to access & easy to manage phone book which holds all the users contact details including name, mobile, home or business contact numbers & email addresses.

Technology & Internet
Wi-Fi® technology provides a connection between the HTC Salsa & a nearby hotspot or wireless LAN, so therefore the user of the Salsa can enjoy wire free Web browsing on their Smartphone. There is a HTML Web browser which comes with a user friendly Google™ search & the user can access their favourite social network Websites & video clips Websites for communication & entertainment purposes. The user can transfer data files between their Smartphone & other devices using either a Bluetooth® wireless connection or a micro USB connection depending on the user's preference & the other devices connectivity options available. The Salsa is a 3G HSDPA capable handset which operates over both 3G & GSM networks. Its battery will provide up to nine hours of talk time or four hundred & forty five hours of standby when used over a GSM network, but slightly less when used over a 3G network. Maps can be viewed on the touch screen complete with easy to follow instruction to the user's next destination, thanks to the built in A GPS navigation system with Google™ maps. The HTC Salsa comes with a memory card facility which can hold up to 32 gigabytes of memory plus the handset has 512 megabytes of preinstalled RAM & 512 megabytes of internal memory available.
