Our HTC ChaCha Review

Overview
The HTC ChaCha is a bar form touch screen Smartphone which come with a user friendly Facebook® key. This social network focused Smartphone supports easy to use communication features including call features, video calling, social network integration & comes with a HTC Sense™ user interface which allows the user to organise their data by friends rather than by application. The ChaCha is from the same HTC range as the HTC Salsa, as both of these handset come with the dedicated social network key facility, but each handset has a different form casing. The ChaCha has the Android™ operating system version 2.4 & comes with a useable bar form design casing complete with a touch screen & a QWERTY keyboard. The name of this Smartphone may sound like a dance but the ChaCha makes you want to dance with its wide assortment of useful features & technologies.

Appearance & Size
It comes in a two tone silver coloured casing or in a black version. The handset is extremely pleasing on the eye & comes with a responsive 2.6 inch touch screen plus a full QWERTY keyboard with individual & well spaced keys for accuracy when typing. The screen has a 480 pixel by 320 pixel resolution & display up to two hundred & fifty thousand colours on its 2.6 inch display. The HTC ChaCha is easy to hold in a single hand whilst using either the touch screen or keyboard, as its dimensions are 1.07cm deep by 6.46cm wide by 11.44cm high & its weighs one hundred & twenty grams. The amazing HTC Sense user interface allows the user to access their messages, call, & recent updates by friends or contact names, rather than by each application. This Smartphone supports HTC widgets & the user can remove or add new applications to this Android Smartphone.

Imaging, Media & Entertainment
There is an integrated music player which supports many music formats plus the user can add new music to their ChaCha via download or transfer methods to cha-cha the night away with music entertainment on their handset. Videos can also be played to entertain the user, plus a front facing VGA camera lens & the ChaCha's 3G technology allows the user to enjoy a video calling facility on their handset. There is a camera lens built in to the back of the casing which holds a 5 megapixel lens & supports video recording plus still photos capturing. An LED flash allows the user to brighten up their snaps & the user can geo tag their photos with the location each photo was captured. There is also an automatic focus feature available when using the camera feature & the user can record video footage in 3GP format.

Communication & Messaging
Social network integration in the latest Smartphone's has become popular with users, & the HTC ChaCha comes with the added bonus of a dedicated Facebook® key providing its user with direct access to Facebook®, therefore allowing the user update their account with photos or video captured using their ChaCha handset. There is also a Facebook® chat widget which allows the user to group friends together for a group online conversation, or if preferred the user can simply enjoy communicating with friends via separate online conversation. The user can communicate with friends, family & even business contacts using the messaging & email services available, which are quick & easy to create & send thanks to the QWERTY keyboard which provides quick alphabetic & numeric text entry. The services include email with Gmail™ & push email support, instant messaging, multimedia photo & video messaging, & text messaging.

Technology & Internet
Bluetooth® wireless technology provides a wire free connection between the HTC ChaCha & another compatible device, allowing the user to share data file between devices which are up to ten metres apart during transferring. There is a micro USB connection port which means the user can also connect to other devices using a cabled connection if desired, plus the handsets EDGE & GPRS technology provides fast transfer rates when sharing data. Memory on the ChaCha comes preinstalled & there is a memory card option which allows the user to add up to 32 gigabytes of external memory if needed. Directions & map views to new location can be gained via the assisted GPS navigation feature which comes with Google™ map support. The HTC ChaCha is a 3G HSDPA capable Smartphone which operates over 3G & GSM networks depending on the user network needs, plus the handset will automatic switch between networks depending on the user's requirements. There is a highly efficient battery provided with the ChaCha which when fully charged can provide up to seven & a half hours of talk time over a GSM network or an estimated seven hours over a 3G network. Wi-Fi® technology allows the user to connect their handset to a close by local hub or hotspot to gain a connection to the Internet, then the user can sit back & enjoy a user friendly browsing experience on their Smartphone complete with a Google™ search & enjoy a cable free connect to the Internet.

Had this phone for a week now & I must say, I love it. I am not a fan of touchscreens at all, but this gives you the best of both world. It looks really stylish & the fact that it's got a dedicate face book button is great.

All in all, I love it & would highly recommend.

I got this phone today as an upgrade &, I have to say, I am really happy with it. I have never liked touch screen phones, but this one I do like as it has the qwerty keyboard. The buttons are a good size even for someone with bigger fingers. When it arrives it only has quick start instructions in the box, but that was not a problem. A bit of playing & you soon get the hang of what you have to do. If you need more info you can get all you need from htc. I never thought I would say this about a touch screen phone, but I really like it. It feels nice & solid in the hand yet is not too heavy. Yes, the screen is smaller than on full size touch screens, but I don't find this a problem.

All in all it's a stunning looking phone that has loads to offer. I would thoroughly recommend it.
