It's an alright phone, not the best. I'd say an iPhone is much better. The phone is alright but you can't really do anything with it. It has no games or demos & you have to buy a little chip or media card to record videos. I like the QWERTY keyboard as it is quick & easy to type. I think the overall phone could be a bit more interesting though.
I'd give it 5 out of 10 as it wouldn't let me go on the Internet so I couldn't go on the Internet while I was out which isn't very useful in case I need to find out the time that a shop closes or find out cinema times. I don't really like this phone so I am either buying a better BlackBerry or moving onto an iPhone :).

The blackberry is rubbish. It is a brick, I have had 2 replacements. & this one is also on the way out. I can build houses with this thing! Waste of your money.

Hi, I have a blackberry 8300, this phone is fantastic. Blackberry phone users are unique in taste & quality. Preference, I will now buy the new (bold 9000). Thank you blackberry.

This phone is so good that after a year, I cannot see any reason to upgrade to the Bold. It's my portable MP3 & Video player, it's my PDA, & most of all, it is my MESSAGING HUB.
What other phone can come close to the speed of using Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, AIM, ICQ, than that of this BlackBerry.
To the people who refuse to believe, I simply show them this test. I let them log in to their computer using any of the messenger clients (say Yahoo! Or Google) & they send a message to me. They cannot believe that the message gets sent not more than 2 seconds (average of 1 to 1.25 seconds) later! I send a reply, & it is just as fast.
Now that is what is important to me. Fast, Stable, & Connected. To top that off, it has a beautiful screen, a 3.5mm audio jack for use with any top end earphones, & a keyboard that presents you with the capability to respond fast to any message you receive. It also has LOUD speakers that's capable of playing music or as a speakerphone, that's actually useable.
Because of this phone, I am a convert, & I cannot see myself having another phone that isn't a BlackBerry, as my primary device. THEY JUST WORK.
Oh, & did I tell you that unlike Windows Mobile devices, you don't restart these devices as often. Like say, for every 50 times you soft reset a Windows Mobile device, you restart a BlackBerry once. & only because you've installed a program & it requires you to do so.
Synchronisation with Outlook or Yahoo, & you can even download Google Sync for your device if you have a Google account, it synchronizes your BlackBerry calendar with that of your Google account, WIRELESSLY! The BlackBerry Curve. One of the best mobile devices ever created.

I love the phone, after having a number of different mobiles this does just about everything I want.
My only problem with it is I can't the the volume of the ringtones to turn down, so everyone in the building hears it when it rings. I have it on normal, quiet seems to be silent & I keep missing calls on vibrate. Can anyone help, then I will have the perfect phone

I changed from having a normal mobile to a single device about a year ago now & after one initial issue with moving contacts from my K800i to the 8300 it has been bliss all the way. This is a great little device & so much better than all the others on the market. Its light, compact & best of all has the spell check for those quick emails on the run. I use it for business & it is by far my most important tool. It's just a great piece of kit & I am sure if it was just for personal use it would also be a great device. I do kind of miss being involved in the new mobile tech game but this is a no nonsense device. Love it.

I bought a blackberry curve 8300, but before this mobile I used a Sony Ericsson p990. But I am having some problems regarding contacts or address book transfer from the Sony Ericsson p990i to blackberry curve 8300. Does anyone know how to do this?

Just Excellent!
Really easy to use & has a Set up Wizard. I never got the phone for business use, purely personal & it's perfect. Keeps me organised with appointments & the QWERTY keypad is so easy to use.
Camera is excellent for general use, sound is excellent & music is very easy to load.
You can associate quick dial to each alphabetical key on the keypad which makes it easier to remember, for me anyway as you can just think of the name & assign that key. Voice Dialing is very cool with feedback from the device asking questions.
I am just sorry I never took the plunge earlier & got this quicker. I mulled around these forums looking for some guidance but I can pretty much guarantee you won't go wrong with the device.

Got this from Vodafone 4 days ago & wow! I am impressed!
Great design unlike the blackberry 8800 & pearl (both soooo chunky) & a big screen too with 320 x 240 pixels too! Features are great but could be a bit improved by putting GPS on, but that would cost a lot.
Amazingly easy to use & trackball is not too sensitive & not too laggy, could have put touch screen though.
Bonuses:
- Can support MP3, AAC, MIDI, & WAV music files & AVI, MP4, MOV, & 3GP video formats songs & videos
- 4 hrs talk time & 17 days standby
I STRONGLY recommend you should buy these items with it:
- 500MB memory card (only £5 from Amazon)
- Metal case

Got this on my desk after launched in the O2 yesterday. Definitely version 8800 series & others.
Improve adds in:
- 2 Meg camera
- Media player (can support MP3, AAC, MIDI, & WAV music files & AVI, MP4, MOV, & 3GP video formats songs & videos) & support on full screen mode in video
- Bluetooth
- Improve keyboard quality.
Bad:
- No Wi-fi or 3G support
- Video Recording
- Call quality sounds a bit hollow
Battery Life: 4 hrs talk time & 17 days standby (not try yet)
Include: extra micro 128 Mb, & wire ear buds, belt holster & universal charger.
Overall, all in all a good Stylish, light, & attractive headset.
Give 8/10.
