Don't BUY IT! ITS NOT WORTH the MONEY & CAN SOMETIMES BE VERY VERY VERY SLOW ! The design is good though.

I have had many contract phones but by far this is the best I have found!
Its stylish, easy to use filled with applications & things to do, but also combines my emails to keep me up to date & means I don't have to have my laptop attached, love it, brilliant buy.

My Blackberry is frequently frozen. It is not easy to reset, even by pulling out the battery. Just by chance I can bring it up after pressing the phone Hang up key with other keys many times. My colleagues have a frozen problem with BB 9000 Bold too.

I have traded in my Blackberry Storm in order to get the Bold 9000, the BB 9000 is absolutely bang on point as far as phones go, this phone is an absolute joy to use, the keypad is sufficiently large enough for someone like me who has big hands to use, a large clear display & very user friendly processes!
recommend it to anyone.

I haven't actually got this phone but I used it today at a party & I have to say, this is A GREAT PHONE!
I love the browser, though can be a tad bit hard to use & the camera is very basic but the screen is FANTASTIC! Smooth, crisp & clear, it soothes your eyes & is fantastic with the icons.
It is a bit wide but you have to compromise for such a great phone.
For all of you people willing to spend £490 on a Blackberry, or any phone, BUY THIS & YOU'LL KNOW WHAT I am ON ABOUT! (but don't get the ANNOYING Sony Ericsson w880i!)

I got this last month, in the beginning I was missing FM Radio, but I downloaded FLY Cast application now I am enjoying worldwide stations of my choice.
Screen is very good, however there should be improvement in camera side which is not good as compare to new models phone. Sat navigation is really terrible but if you download application Google maps than again it works fantastic.
So Overall you need some applications to install it than its really very nice with HSDPA technology.

This is a very good phone my only complaint is the buttons are not as user friendly as the Curve. All the functions work great & its mega customisable the GPS works very good & I even use it while out Mountain Biking.

My youngest son has an iPhone & my eldest a 9000 Bold so I was well placed to compare the two machines. I really wanted the iPhone, it's very tactile & the large screen is awesome, however, it has a couple of major chinks in its armour which I wasn't going to be happy living with. I also dislike the total control Apple want to place upon its customers & therefore I chose the BB. Initially I had major problems getting registered, but that was an O2 issue & not the fault of the phone. Once connected the phone has worked really well. I still haven't perfected the art of typing on such a small keyboard but that will undoubtedly come in time - my wife has had a BB for years & types quicker than I can on a full size keyboard. The GPS works fine but doesn't recalculate a new route once you veer off the suggested one; I guess if you need a TomTom go & buy one. I am disappointed they couldn't have squeezed am FM radio in, I really miss that. The expandable memory up to 8GB is more than I'll ever need & of course you can just take it out on demand. The desktop software is OK, but not a patch on the Nokia equivalent which allows you to quickly edit your contacts on a big screen with a big keyboard, come on BB sort your software out! I've always had Nokia's which are very intuitive to use, I therefore compare everything by this standard. The BB measures up quite well once you have mastered the menu system employed although not everything appears to be where you think it should be. There's a lot that can be personalised on the BB & this will all come in time. The tracker ball is excellent & I can't imagine life without it. The ringtone volume is far better than the iPhone, with speaker phone & media player all producing very acceptable results. Colours & fidelity of the display are almost as good as the iPhone.
All in all, it's a great business tool & more than capable of cutting the mustard with the iPhone.

Now on my fourth phone in 3 months with Orange which says something, but not whole story.
Great phone for features, email, etc, etc. Just had constant problems with it switching off & dropping calls, so have now lost all confidence & moving to another phone as it is becoming a pain.

Had this a few days now, very pleased with the purchase, I find the texting so simple & even has spell check, great battery life, no problems with crashing but have the latest 4.6.0 126 version. Screen is a good size with excellent colours. Takes a few hours to get your head around the settings etc, unless you are used to Blackberry. To sum up great mobile device.

Hi, I have just had a Bold for the last week & a half & have ended up sending it back. I was so looking forward to this & ended up just frustrated & disappointed. The Bold promises so much but fails deliver on a number of fronts.
Build Quality.
Big & Tough but just too big it is much bigger than my old 8820 & that was very well, brick like. However the keyboard is like all Blackberry's perfectly simple & easy to use. Special mention to the screen which is excellent & deserves praise because none of the pictures on sites such as these can do it justice.
Camera.
Well there is no other option, Very Poor indeed. I expected a little more than just the curve's old throw away & definitely a missed opportunity
Email.
No arguments here it is a huge behemoth of an email monster & whether its text or email there is no second place for this beauty.
Multimedia.
A little hit & miss & my old N95 does a better job & that is two years old. It just misses a trick & unlike other reviewers the Divx is a little bit of a none entity as most of the films need to be reformatted to meet the machines playback speed. This could really have been the key selling point to get loads of people on board as a multimedia iPhone killer but in the end I am truly sorry to say that is just another Blackberry & that does not fill me with any happiness to state that whatsoever.
I have now got myself a Nokia E71 which is doing the job perfectly & I will once again look at another Blackberry when the software & hardware are more stable & do what they are being sold as which is a shame.
Martin.

AFTER USING CURVE I MOVED TO BOLD. IT IS A GREAT LOOKING PHONE BUT I THINK the KEYS ARE MUCH SMALLER TO USE, & RING TONES VOLUME is CRAZY. ALTHOUGH YOU CAN ADD YOURS. DO NOT KNOW IF IT IS DUE TO ME THAT I DID NOT CHARGE the BATTERY PROPERLY BUT FOUND the BATTERY LIFE DISAPPOINTING. IF ANY ONE KNOWS WHY PLEASE LET ME KNOW. OTHERWISE, SCREEN IS GOOD & HAS MUCH IMPROVED RESOLUTION. TO BE HONEST CURVE WAS the BEST PHONE I EVER HAD.

I may be biased, working for the company that makes BlackBerry devices, but this is simply the best Smartphone currently on the market. The display is top notch, & the usability is incredible, & I didn't think we could improve on the Curve. Just wait until some of the other models currently under development hit the shops. They'll blow you away.
Bob, Nice argument pal.

I am so glad I bought this phone. I have only had it for a day but it is by far the best phone I have had or even used. Do not be put off if you think Blackberry phones are for business executives as this little gem has a wealth of multimedia muscle behind it.
After losing my iPod I thought it would be a smart idea to get the iphone, however, it is not that great on spec & the battery life is a big no no along with no MMS or video recording. The Bold has an excellent music player that works like an ipod & the videos you can view are of the best quality I have seen on a mobile device. The 3.5mm headphone jack also helps so you can use your own headphones when listening to tunes or watching videos. The camera may only be 2MP but the screen displays the photographs so well you would think it was a lot higher spec, the built in flash is also good although not a Xenon like others.
The trackball will take a little getting used to as I am used to the D pad but I feel more used to it with every try. I have never had the ability to surf the web or look at emails to the same extent on any previous mobile & this device has blown me away.
There are so many features that I see myself playing with this beauty for a long time to come.
The Bold is the BEST!

I have had my hands on an evaluation sample now for about a week.
First impressions out of the box, are that this is a quality device. It has a beautiful finish, with shiny black front, dulled metal around the edges, & a leathery covering on the back. It seems very solid & weighty compared to the Curve for example. The buttons have a definite feel to them. It's all very well made.
The user interface & the device navigation are the same as the previous devices, namely the curve & 88 series, so I was able to start using it straight away, without the need to train myself up on it. The way the icons are presented, & navigated through differs in that it all looks a lot flashier & higher quality, with nice animations of the icons.
This device has all the bells & whistles, should you need them. Camera, video recorder, sat nav built in.
I have tried copying some movies to the micro SD card. Movie watching is particularly good, due to the bright very detailed screen, great sound, & support for DIVX & a whole host of formats. The supplied Roxio software makes for easy transfer to the device. I now have 3 films on my 2GB SD card, ready for my next trip to London on the train.
The GPS system seems to work well, using the Blackberry maps. Unfortunately Nokia E51, & it works great.
It does all the usual email stuff, which is no different to previous devices really.
Web browsing has moved on leaps & bounds with this device. It's clear & easy to navigate round web sites, especially now that you have 3G access, which gives you broadband download speeds.
Battery life, even though I have been hammering it, is still a strong point. I reckon about 5 days if intensive use on one charge.
This is a superb Blackberry, a huge leap forward from RIM. I have had to keep it hidden from colleagues, as I am in fear of being mugged for it!
