I had the older 8520 model a while back. Although this looks very similar the inclusion of 3G means its a lot better to use in terms of web browsing & connectivity.

The phone feels better put together than the older model aswell & I am a fan of the chrome surround.

The newer blackberry OS is a joy to use & brings them bang up-to-date. I believe there is another update on the way soon which is exciting.

Very good entry level blackberry.

Just recently got this phone a couple of weeks ago & so far, I really like it. It never ceases to amaze me. I am liking it more & more each day. It's really easy to use once you get the hang of it. I have only had one or two other smart phones including a Nokia in the past couple of years but, I didn't like them & ended up selling them to a mobile phone recycle company for cash albeit a lot less than I paid for them. I then went back to a normal button phone until I got fed up with the slowness of the Internet & got bored with Sony Ericsson. I thought if I got a Smartphone the net might respond better than the normal OS you find on normal non Smartphone phones. So I opted for a different brand of phone that I hadn't used before & opted for a Blackberry Curve 9300 as I still wanted a button phone since I don't like full touch screen phones & don't like the Smartphone's with slide out of the side qwerty keyboards. Anyhow it's a really easy phone to use & would suit a first time Smartphone user. It hasn't got a very good camera being only 2MP but, it's good for what it is. If you wanted quality pictures you'd take pictures with a digital camera. The camera would have been a bit better if it had flash included but, that isn't the end of the world. The music player is amazing & you have many options of changing the equaliser & you can even have bass boost for calls. The menu is easy customisable to suit the user & the main display shows the first 6 icons of whatever the user has as their first 6 apps etc. The phone comes with some pre loaded games such as block-breaker, suduko, solitaire & some other game but, I couldn't get the hang of them & was easy to delete & download my own. I can't find any fault with this phone. Another thing it does lack is a radio but, you can get apps for that if you wanted radio. A very nice & amazing little phone.

Love this phone. The only drawback is, if you upgrade it to OS6, it takes all your memory & you can hardly download any apps. Why Blackberry do not let you choose to save it onto the memory card I will never know. Crazy. I have an 8GB in my phone doing nothing!

Decided after an HTC Desire (appalling battery power & even worse phone memory) & an iPhone 3GS (Over ratted) I'd go back to a Smartphone with a keypad &, having used an 8320 for work for 2 years, plumped for the curve.

Easy to use, straightforward but I wish they would make the settings menus simpler!

Really fast on 3G, Blackberry apps are decent & battery power has been good so far.

Facebook functionality isn't as good as the HTC but it keeps me off it!

Somehow it doesn't feel as solid as my old 8320 - the back cover looks nice with its raised profile but isn't a close fit & is a bit flimsy with an annoying click when pressing it in the middle- a thicker back would have solved this.

Overall though, I don't need games on my phone & it does everything it says on the tin.

I've had this phone a few days now & I like it.

Only thing is, the battery goes quite quickly, but did a firmware upgrade & it seems to have solved the problem.

The GPS for Facebook Places work very well.

Good music playback with a decent pair of headphones.

All in all, it's a quite quick on the 3G & on Wi-Fi.

Definitely better than the Curve 8520.
