OK, so it's easy enough to hold but the buttons are a little hard for me to push down properly & I often accidentally push the wrong one.

It freezes up sometimes, but this happens like once every 3 months.

Right now, I am having issues with text messages. The new message envelope is in the left top corner of my screen, but I have no new messages. I cleared out my inbox, & the symbol is still there. I turned it off then back on, it's still there. I sent a text using another phone, & it said that the message could not be delivered, meaning my phone is now refusing to accept any new messages until I read the phantom one. Not happy.

I don't use the MP3 player because it drains the battery.

Other than that, it's a brilliant phone :D.

The Benq Siemens E61.

Now what can I say about it?

Well I got this phone from my uncle as a birthday present back in September. It was wrapped up when he first gave it to me & I was very excited to know what this was. After I got all my presents I ran to my room with a few of my cousins. They were excited to know what my uncle gave me too. I was so keen to know what it was so I opened it first. When I saw the picture of the E61 on ht box I was attracted by the buff colour & style of it.

Well, what was next?

I couldn't wait to put in the SIM card, memory card & battery so I did & then charged it for a bit. Then I switched it on & I was amazed by what I saw. The screen was very colourful. I really liked the music buttons placed on the top of the phone since I like to listen to music & it is also very easy to start playing the music when it's in your pocket.

One of my cousins had the same phone & was complaining about the phone, saying that it never had Bluetooth. But you can download everything you want from the computer using the USB cable.

The Phone.

The phone is very stylish & attractive to others. It has lots & lots & lots of excellent features. The best feature I like about the phone is the MP3 player. The camera is quiet good too. Although you can't send songs from your mate's phone via Bluetooth you have a USB cable so you can download it from the computer.

The Phone features.

- Music Player. Can play MP3, ACC & ACC+.
- VGA Camera. Can capture photos & record videos.
- Dedicated music buttons on the top of the phone. PLAY or PAUSE, VOLUME CONTROL & up.

I got this phone second hand & I am a bit annoyed it doesn't have Bluetooth but that's about it, it's a really good phone other than that I would choose a different phone but this one is fine I haven't got a cable so I don't know about the MP3 player but I am sure that's fine LOL because the music controls are in a handy place if you just stick it in your pocket.

This phone has totally missed its purpose, making phone calls. The tinny incoming sound is unacceptable. Tried to give it to my mum & even she noticed how rubbish the quality was. If anybody wants to buy one, look on eBay. It's not even worth putting it on there, as they are absolutely worthless. DOH! MP3 player is good though.

The features on this phone are limited BUT that is because it is a very reasonably priced phone! I needed an easy to use phone with an MP3 player at a reasonable price to use whilst traveling around for my work. All I need is phone & text facilities plus I wanted an MP3 player so I could listen to music on the long journeys I have to make. I didn't want anything too flashy in case it got lost/or damaged during my work & I needed something sturdy in case it got dropped etc. It's not what you'd call a trendy phone but it's been just what I needed for my work at the moment. It has been dropped & bashed around & is still going after a year!

I see everyone complaining about this mobile phones features for its unavailability of Bluetooth & IRDA, Video recorder Etc.

It is not very good because it is a great value phone for a cheap price. I just bought this phone like 2 weeks ago for Rp.875, 000 (RP Rupiah, Indonesian Currency) which is about $ 92 US Dollars with an extra 128 MB external memory. It is a very great deal though for a phone with an external memory & MP3 player, because it is cheaper than the other brands with the same features.

This phone has got no Bluetooth which spoils it, & it takes ages to actually find out how to put music on it! It is a great design, but the quality of the camera is poor & there is no video capture. The volume of the music on the phones is quite & not very loud to be honest, even though the memory is quiet good you can store up to 500 songs on it. I would recommend it if you are one for design & not fused about flashy features. It is an OK phone for music lovers but not the best in the world.

I wish I still had this phone. While it's not the flashest or overloaded with special features that few ever use (Bluetooth etc.) its MP3 player is excellent if you update it with a sufficiently large memory card. I added a 2GB memory card to mine & found it extremely user friendly as an MP3 player. Admittedly the odd track didn't appear & it frequently froze, but the sound quality was outstanding & the interface was very accessible. The camera was poor, however.

If you use your phone primarily as an MP3 player & for texting, the E61 is cheap & cheerful.

The design is OK on first looks. Everyone says it's a nice looking phone, but after a couple of weeks it really becomes quite horrible. Also it has many problems,

- No Bluetooth
- No Infared
- The MP3 player is good BUT the volume control & track changer at the top of phone is very dodgy.

For the price I'd say it's a 50/50 phone & that maybe you would want to look around a bit more before buying. Apart from that, it dose what you need from a phone & I suppose it is quite reliable. Battery is good. I just came back from a 5 day camp & it lasted all 5 days somehow.

It would be a nice phone, if you had the ability to do anything except play MP3's & take crummy pictures. It's very limited on its abilities, but seems to promise a lot more than it delivers. Basically if you want another software problem from Siemens, it's a cheaper alternative, don't let them pull the wool over your eyes, its buggy, cheap, & well I guess the looks are subjective, but personally I find it looks like an Orange banded doorstop.

Advise anyone to go out & spend the extra £20 for something you will be happy with.

Not much spice in the design, just a simple bar like design. But great usability. The dedicated music keys on the top are very user friendly. No Bluetooth no infra-red only the USB for connectivity. Decent camera. Loudspeakers are quite loud. Headset is not so loud. No videos. Very light & fun to use. Overall a cheap alternative for a music phone.

The phone looks quite cool but it's not got Bluetooth or a video camera! The MP3 player is good but you can't get many songs unless you get a mini SD thing. The headphones are rubbish & you can't use normal head phones with it. I lost my headphones & had to get a friend from Germany to buy some there because I couldn't find anywhere in the UK that sold them! The phone has started to freeze occasionally. It also takes ages to turn on which is really annoying. This phone is pretty good but its nothing special & I wouldn't recommend it.

This phone has some drawbacks that make me want to get rid of it.

First off, the camera is very limited. The camera takes fuzzy, unfocused pictures at low resolution (640 x 480 is the highest it supports). There is NO zoom, despite what the manual or specifications claim.

The included earphone buds are too short & don't stay in your ears. Well, that's not so bad, except that it has no phono jack to use your own headphones. So you cannot use your earphones or plug it into an external source (say the MP3 player input for a car radio).

The USB connection is USB 1.1, so it's pretty slow.

I've had many mobile phones but this one is the best I've had. I love music & music when ever I want the sound quality is wicked I am a musician I paid £49 pounds for this phone & it sounds better than those over rated ipods just drag & drop your MP3's & away you go & who wants blue tooth any way another pain to get frustrated about so if you love your music & want a solid phone that rocks forget over priced Ericsson or Motorola, BenQ Siemens have got it right.

I have had the phone for 6 months now. At first it was great but after the fifth month it played up. At first it got slower. Now the buttons on the top of the phone have all stopped working apart from the play button. This is a major problem because I can't turn the volume down which is stuck on full. The headphones have also stopped working & I can't find anymore. The phone is a good price & looks OK. They are good when you first get them but if you are thinking of having one for a long period of time I strongly recommend to get a Nokia instead. There is also no irda or Bluetooth. All in all not a good phone. Cheers Simon

I have noticed that some of the other reviewers have had problems transferring music onto the phone. It isn't hard, but it isn't explained very well in the manual. All you need to do is plug the phone into the USB port of your computer, & wait for the PC to recognise it. Double click on the 'my computer' icon, then double left click on the phone removable device icon which the PC has allocated to it (usually the H drive). This will open a window listing all the components of the phones memory as a series of folder. Move this window to one side, then open the folder which contains the MP3 files you want to transfer to the phone. Finally, drag each music file in turn onto the MP3 folder in the phones window. Job done!

Hey, I got this phone last year & it's great. It's got a great MP3 player, a USB which if you change it to mass storage means you can drag & drop files, some games, a great design (although would be good if you could change it).

Although,
It doesn't have infra-red
It doesn't have Bluetooth
It doesn't have at least 1.2MP camera (it has a vga 640x480)

Aside from that it's great, & just as loud as Sony Ericsson.

Does anybody know how I could add Bluetooth to this phone though, please tell me if so. Thanks

The camera is not so good & the lack of video/Bluetooth spoils the phone but for £50 what can you expect? The MP3 is great. It says it can hold 500 songs but I have around 110 on mine but they average from 6 - 10 mins long. I would recommend this phone; it's awesome for the money.

Design is OK FROM A DISTANCE but under close inspection is tack. No Bluetooth, no infra-red, poor camera. Poor display & annoying keypad. The only good thing about this phone is the keys at the top which are quite a good idea. But if you want a phone dedicated to MP3, get one from the Sony Ericsson range.
