BenQ-Siemens CL71 Review

The BenQ-Siemens CL71 is a stylish & attractive camera phone which comes with a slide opening mechanism. The phone comes is a black & silver coloured metallic casing which is mainly black when in the closed position & adds to a sleek & stunning looking handset. The slide opening system works smoothly & works with the gentlest of touches. The handset is slender with a 17.8 mm think casing & weighs 115 gram which provides a solid weigh to the handset. The phone offers 170 hours standby from the battery & 2.5 hours talk time for the user to enjoy. The user can extend the memory with the swappable MicroSD TransFlash™ memory cards & the phone comes with 24 Mbytes of internal memory available. The BenQ-Siemens CL71 looks like the BenQ-Siemens EL71 as they are both slide opening phones with highly useable features but the CL71 comes with different features & includes a FM radio.

The phone comes with a TFT type screen that provides 262k colours & a screen resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. The screen works as a viewfinder for the camera & video recorder feature. The camera is a 1.3 megapixel camera with a 3 x digital zoom option. The camera is easy to use & comes with a multi shot feature which will take four shots with a single press of the camera button, therefore the user will have four photos to choose the very best shot. The CL71 comes complete with a video recorder & video player which will record & play video in 3GPP & H.263 formats.

The entertaining music player which is integrated can provide the user with their choice of music at any time of the day or night. The user can listen to MP3, AAC & WMA music formats & enjoy it via the phones integrated speaker system or on the stereo headset that comes with the phone. The phone comes with a built in FM radio which allows the user to tune into any popular radio station & enjoy the latest music & recent new highlights. The user can choose between either polyphonic, MP3, MIDI & ACC ringtones. The use can download Java™ games to suit their gaming needs or play the preinstalled Java™ games at their leisure.

Like the Benq Siemens CL71 & the EL71. BS have copied the design of these phones from Nokia but it looks good, I just hope they work good.

Now BenQ & Siemens have come together it all seems to become a little clearer. I have been told that BenQ created the EL71 & Siemens created the CL71 & this is the reason why the keypads are different but the phones are similar to the untrained eye. Both will be amazing phones. I personally prefer the spec & design of the CL71. My ratings will not be fair as I have not used the phone to date.
