Our Apple iPhone 4S Review

The iPhone 4S is an Apple 3G Smartphone packed full of fun & user friendly features to suit your communication & entertainment needs, complete with many fun & useful apps too. The 4S comes with a higher specification camera feature, larger memory option than the Apple iPhone 4 but it supports the same size casing. It is available in a white or black coloured casing & supports the Apple A5 processor & runs iPhone operating system version 5.0. There is a magnificent retina display which measures 3.5 inch diagonally & displays crystal clear colours on this responsive touch screen. The screen also has a fingerprint resistant coating & provides an onscreen keypad or keyboard when necessary. You have a choice of three memory options which include sixteen, thirty two or sixty four gigabytes of internal memory, plus the casing has a stylish slim design measuring 0.93cm in depth. You can enjoy both 3G or GSM network connectivity dependant on your network requirements & it supports an array of technologies to enhance your usability including Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth® wireless technology version 4.0 & assisted GPS system with Google maps.

A front facing camera is well positioned & discretely designed into the casing which allows you to enjoy a face to face FaceTime video call, where you see your contact on your touch screen along with a small image of yourself which is also seen by your chosen contact, this provides the ideal communication for a real life conversation. The main camera lens is located on the back of the casing & has a 8 megapixel lens & comes with a wide selection of photo options & settings, plus high definition video recording capabilities with a video stabiliser & light option to maximise your video experience. You will enjoy the tap to zoom option when you are capturing a photo & photos can be taken in darker surrounding thanks to the integrated LED flash too. Why not playback your own video recordings, videos shared by others & downloaded movies for entertainment on your new Smartphone.

iCloud allows you to store all your data onto all your devices with minimal effort as it automatically & wirelessly shares all your music, photos & videos with all your compatible Apple devices including your iPad & iPod. Just upgraded from an iPhone4 to the iPhone 4s & it is nearly exactly the same.

The camera is a little better & they have a faster processor & Siri voice software. But none of that would in my opinion justify this being classed as a new device.

Now I am a massive iPhone fan & I love the whole experience & the way these things can be used for nearly every part of life now but I must share my lack of enthusiasm as it is basically the same as the iPhone 4. Very disappointed.

Also, I have one VERY BIG NEGATIVE.

The battery life if horrific. Losing 10-15% per hour of light use & standby.

& YES, I have read all the recommendations in the forums to turn off location & push email & all sorts of other functions to increase the battery life, but I have EXACTLY duplicated the setup on my iPhone4.

They are next to each other on my desk & the 4S loses charge at least twice as fast as the original iPhone 4.

Apple are apparently going to release some software to assist, but I am very annoyed at this deployment again with bugs. It seems standard practice for Apple!

I may go back to my iPhone 4 whilst they sort out the bugs.
